Fall Session Begins Monday, September 11th!

Inaugural Joe Thornton Memorial Golf Tournament – September 23rd, 2017

All golfers, and anyone who likes to have fun for a worthy cause are invited to participate in the 1st ever Joe Thornton Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 23rd at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Winfield, KS. The tournament format is a 4-person scramble, registration begins at 8:15 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Lunch and prize presentations will follow after play, scoring will be flighted with cash prizes for the top 2-3 teams in each flight depending on the number of team entries. All proceeds will go to the Joe Thornton Scholarship Fund which provides activity scholarships for under-privileged youth participants. Downstream Casino – October 10th, 2017

Join the WRC for a fun getaway at Downstream Casino in the northeast corner of Oklahoma. Try your gaming luck on over 2,000 slot machines and table games including Black Jack, Poker, and Texas Hold’em. Village Tours motor coach will load at 7:30 a.m. and leave at 7:45 a.m. from the rec parking lot. Trip is open to those 55 and older. Registration begins August 28th, deadline is October 2nd.

Kansas City Chiefs Trip – October 15th, 2017

The Winfield Recreation Commission is offering a group bus trip this fall to watch the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers on October 15th. The activity fee is $150 per person, includes game ticket and transportation on a Village Charter tour bus. Branson Variety Trip – November 14th – 16th, 2017

Enjoy a fun filled 3-day trip to Branson with the WRC. Entertainment includes music by the Oak Ridge Boys, a viewing of the Branson Festival Lights, and a performance of the Hot Country Countdown at Jerry Presley’s God and Country Theatre, and much more! The Village Tours bus will leave the recreation center on Nov. 14th at 8:30 a.m. and return Nov. 16th at approximately 3:30 p.m. Call or visit the WRC office for more information.
